Requires schools and institutions to:
- Take prompt and effective action to end any sex discrimination in their educational programs or activities – and to prevent its recurrence and remedy its effects.
- Provide supportive measures to complainants and respondents affected by conduct that may constitute sex discrimination, including sexual violence and other forms of sex-based harassment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all complaints of sex discrimination with a fair, transparent, and reliable process that includes trained, unbiased decision makers to evaluate all relevant and not otherwise impermissible evidence.
- Have a Title IX coordinator. Deputy Title IX coordinators are available on each campus for students:
- Deputy Title IX Coordinators manage Title IX complaints when they are student vs student.
- If a student has a Title IX complaint against a student worker, staff, or faculty then the complaints are handled by the District Title Coordinator at the District Office.
As of August 01, 2024, there will be two sets of Title IX regulations in place. The Title IX coordinator will determine which regulations are applicable, pursuant to BP 3433 (a), BP 3433 (b), AR 3433 (a), AR 3433 (b), AR 3434 (a), and AR 3434 (b).
