Ultimate Balancing Act
Jennifer Marta’s work to serve Madera leadership while earning doctorate catches attention, earns SCCCD Classified Professional of the Year nomination. Jennifer Marta decided to see the positive side of change rather than get caught up in the unknown. In an academic year when she needed to be completely locked in, Marta was asked to take on a new role at Madera Community College, serving as Executive Assistant to President Dr. Angel Reyna. All this while she was finishing up her own pursuits for a doctoral degree.
Madera Community College students shine at Central Valley Honors Symposium
The psychology group embraces challenges, excels in event against honors-level students. As the judging panel at the Central Valley Honors Symposium revealed the top three projects and one honorable at this year’s event, Vega, her classmates and professor Dr. Antoniette Aizon were hopeful that the group would manage to earn a place.
Dr. Jennifer Gray: Committed to the Madera community
Passion for helping others keeps at MCC for nearly 30 years. Teaching was not part of the plan for Dr. Jennifer Gray. Not when she moved across the country from New England to the Central Valley with her husband. Not as she worked her way through graduate school at UC Berkeley. Not after 18 years working in medical technology.
Elizabeth Villalobos: Numerically Focused, People Driven
Elizabeth Villalobos knows that. In fact, it’s what she loves about her job as the Senior Research and Planning Analyst for Madera Community College. Black and white figures in a report are important. Hard and fast quantitative data helps Villalobos in her study of what is working at the institution. But she refuses to forget the qualitative aspect of what makes education a unique melting pot.
