Madera Community College is delighted to have Dr. Maryam Farshadfar, a pianist and ethnomusicologist from San José–Evergreen Valley College. She will give a lecture-recital on Thursday, February 5 at 12:30 PM in AM-123. The program is a Piano Journey Along the Caucasus, featuring piano works from Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, and Iran. The program explores how traditional melodies and cultural heritage shape classical piano music across the region. There will be a brief presentation on the history of the region pre-recital by Madera Community College History Instructor, Dr. Hagop Ohanessian. We welcome our campus community to attend.
