The National Weather Service (NWS) indicates yet another Atmospheric River event will enter our region next week.
The storm is forecast to impact the Central Valley region and Sierra Nevada Foothills from Sunday morning 3/19 through Wednesday 3/22. The heaviest precipitation is currently forecast for Monday night 3/20 through Tuesday 3/21. Updated NWS briefings and graphics are attached for your convenience and planning.
The already saturated soils and environment may allow excessive rainfall to lead to flooding along rivers, streams, as well as standing or running water across roadways.
As of today the Madera campus and Oakhurst campus are currently scheduled to remain open and operate normally next week Monday 3/20 through Friday 3/24. Additional messaging will be provided if circumstances change and an update is necessary.
Please plan for additional time for travel and exercise caution when on the roadways next week. Be prepared for roadway flooding, downed trees, or other obstacles.

The storm is forecast to impact the Central Valley region and Sierra Nevada Foothills from Monday evening 3/13 through Wednesday morning 3/15. The heaviest precipitation is currently forecast for Tuesday and Tuesday night 3/14. Updated briefings and graphics are attached for your convenience and planning.
Our Madera campus and Oakhurst campus are both currently open and operating normally. Tomorrow night’s in-person classes in Oakhurst will meet normally, as will in-person classes in Oakhurst on Wednesday, March 15. There are no hybrid courses on Tuesday evenings in Oakhurst.
