Dear MCCC Student,
As you have read below and have seen on television, the coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak is an evolving public health concern. As Chancellor Oakley has aptly stated, “Public health officials continue to classify the threat posed by COVID-19 as low, but we understand the uncertainty surrounding this outbreak and its tendency to produce some anxiety.” Both our local and state Chancellor’s Office are relying on the professional assessments of the California Department of Public Health as the primary source of information and guidance on COVID-19 for our system.
We know that many of you may also have growing fears. Please be reminded that knowledge is power. The threat and risk of exposure is low and there are currently no reported confirmed cases in Fresno and surrounding counties.
