SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Our annual scholarship awards ceremony took place September 20 in the Dr. Bill F. Stewart Administration Building, where 22 students were awarded over $30-thousand dollars in scholarship money from generous donors. Madera and Oakhurst Community College Centers thanks all of the donors who believe in the futures of our students, and the State Center Community College Foundation for their support of this event. Students and their donors met each other during a reception prior to the awards program. President Angel Reyna, State Center Community College District Chancellor Dr. Paul Parnell, and State Center Foundation Executive Director Rico Guerrero were among those who made opening remarks. This year’s student speaker was Fulisha Salinas, who gave an inspiring message about working hard for her family and not letting anything get in the way of her goals. President Reyna and donors took photos with all of the recipients. Refreshments were served.
