Multifactor Authentication

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to help protect your account from unauthorized access. It's quick to set up and gives you greater control over your account’s security.

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) requires a second method of verification when logging into an online service. Common types of MFA include a one-time use code sent via text, via email, or via notification to a mobile device application. This second method of verification, used alongside your username and password, enhances your account security. By using MFA, you help protect your personal information, as well as sensitive and confidential SCCCD resources and data.

I don't have a mobile device. What other options are available to me?

You can check out a hardware MFA token from one of our support locations. These tokens allow you to securely log in without needing a phone or smartphone. Visit MFA Support Locations for details on where to get a token.

I forgot my phone at home. How can I log in to my account without it?

You can request a temporary MFA bypass, which allows you to access your account for 24 hours without needing your mobile device. Visit one of our support locations for assistance with a bypass. A list of locations is available here: MFA Support Locations.

I believe someone hacked my account. Who do I contact for help?

Immediately contact our IT Help Desk at 559-675-4879 or email techhelp@maderacollege.edu. We’ll help you secure your account and investigate any suspicious activity.

What should I do if my authentication method isn't working?

If your method (text, call, or app) isn’t working, visit a support site as soon as possible. Staff can verify your identity and help you reset or change your MFA method.

Is MFA required for all students?

Yes, MFA will be enforced on all student accounts to protect your personal information and access to college services. Make sure you're enrolled before the enforcement date to avoid login issues.
